WELCOME ON SIE2026 ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Access to the abstract submission system for the 53° Congresso Nazionale SIE is limited to users with a registered Corresponding Author account. If an account has not yet been created, authors are requested to do so using the “Account creation” link available in the menu above the event banner. All correspondence related to the submission process will be sent to the email address provided at registration. Please note that the presenting author of the abstract must be registered for the Congress.

The scientific contributions must be written in English and sent EXCLUSIVELY via the Internet before April 30, 2026 through the pages of this website.
Please be aware that the deadline is mandatory, and it will be not postponed.

The electronic form will be organized as follows:

  • DATE OF BIRTH: Date of birth of the first author;
  • AUTHORS: First author (ONLY the initial of the first name followed by the full surname), followed by all other authors in order of contribution (e.g. M. Rossi(1), G. Bianchi(1|2), A. Verdi(1); or, if all authors belong to a single institution, M. Rossi, G. Bianchi, A. Verdi). Authors must always be separated by a comma, with no final punctuation. Please note that this field is subject to automated validation and must follow the specified format exactly. The information entered will be processed as structured data, not as free text, and may be used to generate indexes and author listings.
  • CONFLICT OF INTEREST: Please disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the first author. Please follow these instructions: indicate “No conflict of interest” if none exists, or list any commercial healthcare-related entities with which the first author has had financial relationships, including funding, during the past two years.
    For the purposes of this declaration, a “conflict of interest” is defined as ownership of equity or shares in healthcare-related companies, employment relationships with such companies, or receipt of royalties from them. The performance of studies, research activities, or consultancy work alone is not considered a conflict of interest.
  • AFFILIATIONS: Enter the participating institutions, separated exclusively by a semicolon (;) (e.g. (1)Pediatric Nephrology Unit, De Marchi Clinic; (2)Cardiology Unit I, Mangiagalli Clinic; (3)Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù or, if a single institution is involved, Pediatric Nephrology Unit, De Marchi Clinic).     Please note that postal addresses, street names, and postal codes must not be included in the affiliation field. Such information is not required for scientific or editorial purposes and is therefore unnecessary. All correspondence will be handled exclusively via email through the designated corresponding author. Including address details may require manual editing and may introduce unintended errors.
  • CITY: Enter the city/cities of the institutions listed above, separated by a comma. When more than one city is indicated, each city must be prefixed with the same numerical identifiers used for the corresponding affiliations (e.g. (1|2)Milano IT, (3)Roma IT or, if a single institution is involved, Milano IT). City names must be entered in their original local language and must be followed by a hyphen (-) and the international country code (ISO 3166, 2- or 3-letter code).   • ABSTRACT TEXT: Plain text format only, with no formatting applied. Maximum 2,500 characters, including spaces. The system accepts accented characters, mathematical symbols, and Greek letters, but does not accept formatting styles such as bold, italic, superscript, or subscript. Superscript and subscript characters, as well as bold, italic, and underline styles, may be applied exclusively via the dedicated popup menu Paste located next to the labels of the Title and Abstract fields only. This menu allows the insertion of typographic tags that will be correctly interpreted by the system.
  • CURRICULUM VITAE: Following the registration of the abstract will necessarily be charged the Curriculum Vitae of the first author;
  • ATTACHED: one Figure or one table isn't mandatory. Authors who wish to include one figure or one table should first save the text of their abstract. Afterwards, from the detail page of the saved abstract, authors can access a form to attach one figure or one table only.

    • The Scientific Secretariat will examine the contributions for oral presentation or poster presentation.

    GENERAL INFORMATION AND UPDATED REGULATIONS:
    1. The official language of the Congress is Italian;
    2. The first author/presenter should have an Italian affiliation;
    3. The presenter should be one of the authors;
    4. The presenter should NOT be retired. The presenter should have an active role in the NHS (National Hospital system – SSN Sistema Sanitario Nazionale);
    5. The first author and the last author should NOT be retired.
    6. Submission of the abstract implies MANDATORY participation at the congress, in case of abstract’s acceptance;
    7. Encore abstracts*: encore abstracts are accepted as resubmission of abstract previously presented at other international events, conference or congress. It is not allowed to submit encore abstract related to papers already published or to be published within October 31, 2026;
    8. Abstract notifications will be communicated to the author corresponding before Congress.
